Row of Charcoal Kilns

Charcoal was one of the main industries of Piedmont, WY. There were four charcoal kilns built in 1869, but one has since colapsed. They are about 25-30 feet tall; The doorway is probably 5-6 feet tall. I made this one black and white to pronounce the grains, shadows, and highlights of the stones. I also liked how the sky turned out really dark, which made the bright kilns stand out even more. I also like how the fence blends into the darker background because I felt that the fence shouldn't even be there; it distracts from the overall picture.

The B&W treatment is great, and at this angle the fence actually looks like a natural part of the scene.
