Love your creation. Didn't live in NYC but I do believe in the 40's

that friends and family found a very close bond and made happy times

with what they had in their lives. I was a small child but I remember

laughter amoung my family, relatives and their friends.

I'm 67 and i grew on the streets of Brooklyn and had cousins in the Amboy Dukes. I loved Brooklyn and NY then and now and never found it depressing and the 40's and 50 were great years, i think your memory is a bit twisted.

Please dont get me wrong. i love the image, think you did a great job, Just your interpretation of that era a little off. The late 40's were some of the best years in NY, after the war everything prospered and that led to the magnificent 50's!!!

Don't know where you lived in NYC but i don't remember anything like that at all Lived in NY all my life and never found it a difficult, dirty or depressing place to live as you are trying to portray in your image. Personally i think you read too many comic books as a kid!

A wonderful eerie looking effect. Adding your storyline gives meaning to the artwork. Well done.
