Many people in Louisiana have statues of Mother Mary. Some of them are good and some are in disrepair. This particular one caught my eye. Why?

Well, on Her head is a crown of flowers. We used to crown Mary with flowers when we were younger but that was in May. Around Her neck is a Rosary. A Rosary is what some of my Protestant friends call Catholic Prayer Beads.

They are beads used to pray through Mother Mary in a special way. Would you ask a friend to pray for you? Well, why not ask the Mother of God to pray for you? That is part of the logic. A good explanation of it is at:
