Thank you Bruce - I'm glad you liked this shot, and appreciated the technical elements that went into it!

I corrected this using the free GIMP software (download it from gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html) which is a fantastic bit of software that rivals PhotoShop, yet costs nothing. Obviously, digital post-processing does not match the quality of swing and tilt adjustments made in-camera, and inevitably you are stretching the upper part of the image, and introducing interpolation artefacts. However it's more than adequate for most purposes, and is probably indistinguishable from a view camera at the resolution used here!

A great architectural shot, Steve. How did you correct the perspective to produce vertical lines in the building? It looks as good as (or better than) anything that could be done with the swings and tilts on a view camera!

Sorry about that last entry, Steve. I lost the connection and it posted before I could proofread it. The museums are still beautiful and I'm enjoying your images immensely.

The back wh fun fair was a lot of fun way back when!

Paul McCartney and Linda moved onto our block about 6 months after I left England, across the road from my best friend, Robin, at #8 Cavendish Ave

Thanks again Vicki, and I'm just really pleased that I've been able to take you back in time!

Yes, Battersea fun fair closed down a long time ago. But what with that and your reference to Lord's you've given me some ideas for my next London pictures!

Another delightful trip back for me, Steve. This is a great series of the Natural History Museum.

Some of those dioramas were really splendid. This is a fun 'trip' through your work for me.

Did I hear that Battersea Fun Fair is no more? We walked over there to play tennis when I was in Upper Third. I lived on Cavendish Avenue, behind Lord's Cricket Ground - but recent Google Earth images show that place has been hugely expanded!

Thank you Lorraine and Tania. Tania, I think that crane is doing some work on the museum itself, although I'm not 100% sure. Maybe I should have cloned it out?

Steve I have just noticed the crane in the background. Is that maintanence for the museum or a new building going up behind it.

Thanks Mary and Evelyn. Mary, I was lucky with the lighting: I happened to catch a brief glimpse of sunlight which, as you can tell from the cloudy sky, was in short supply! Glad it brought back memories for you, Evelyn.

I love this musuem..my husband and I were in England in 2003 and had the opportunity of seeing it....the building detail is great with all the gargoils on the building too and the dinosauer in the lobby.

Beautiful composition. I like the way the light is hitting the building, the angle you took the photo from and the sky. Well done.
