Moth mosaic

My attempt at combining my love for macro photography with my love for mosaic....now if I could just figure out a good way to photograph the mosaic.....never good at that.... I've included a lot of iridescent black glass to imitate the moth's wings and was trying for a

3-D effect with the legs and antenne.

amazing to hear this. I also wanted to add, if you'd like to make a mosaic of that Nigella or Love in a Mist flower photo of mine, please feel free to : )

I did mention it at the flower site, but you might not check back there, so am writing this here also

Thanks for the comments! Alandra, you know, this was one of the fastest mosaics that I have made. I got an idea and I had to do it before I could do anything else. I worked on it for about 7 days--probably around 35 hours or so. Some of the pieces are quite large as I was working on a fairly large surface of 24"x24". The green areas have pretty large pieces in it. Can't get enough of this stuff! I have a lot of ideas that I want to make stemming from different photos that I've taken....the possibilities are endless......

that is my favourite so far! It's fabulous. Thought it was a real butterfly from the thumbnail. This one must have been an incredibly intricate & time consuming amount of work, the mosaic pieces are very small. How many hours did it take you to complete this? It's very beautiful
