thanks for the interesting info, Gary. Love hearing all these items about the photos, as well as seeing the pics themselves : ) Had no idea about the long pods on the mesquite trees, and neat about the herd of wild horses also. I'd love to see all this.

Thanks. These are very tough trees. In the spring, they are a mass of bright yellow blooms and are usually covered with bees. Later, long bean pods hang from the branches. The Indians used to use them for food. There is a herd of wild horses not far from here (out on the desert). They love to eat those beans.
