The Light

The Light

My husband was in his garage, working on a car (as he is a mechanic) and I decided to grab my camera and take some photos. The light he was using really caught my eye. It was hanging underneath the bonnet (hood) so he could see into the engine. This was taken at nightime and the light in his garage is not that great which is why he needs this light so much.

Thanks for the info Alan. Had never heard of shutterstock.com till now but may have to look at what you suggested. I had to laugh about the push pins though.

Awesome job Lulu! Hey don't let your husband get to you, my wife does the same thing to me. Now she just shakes her head when I'm taking photos of things like push pins around the house. Photos like this are great for selling on Shutterstock.com.

Thanks for commenting Bill. Like I've stated before, its one of my personal favourites too!

Thanks Brian. I have to admit that this is one of my favourites also. I never expected it to turn out like it did. My husband did think I was nuts taking a photo of his light.

I agree with what they said above. The stark lines and contrast of this photo is amazing. This is one of my favorites of your photos.

Thanks Shirree and Gary. I thought it was time for something a little bit different to my usual photos and was quite pleased with the result. There was no need for any editing on this one. Just a little cropping on the sides.

Thanks to Karen, Alandra, Tania and Silverdebster for your comments. Yes, I may be borrowing this light from my husband more as you have just given me another idea. Oh yeah, it is a halogen light by the way. These are the only lights my husband will use while working on cars.

Nice idea, and lovely flowing movement from the bars into the handle below :) I bet you've got your eye on this light - it looks like a halogen light, perfect for photography as it gives the same light effect as daylight and some good camera flash units. Good luck 'borrowing' it from your husband. :)

This has beautiful lines and patterns. Funny how everyday things can make beautiful images.
