This print was made by converting the background to black leaving just the body and stem of the rose. Then a filter was applied to render a rough brush stroke on the flower. This yielded a very abstract image with not much depth, so then another layer was created from the original rose image and the background was erased and made transparent. The opacity of the rose layer was reduced and that whole layer superimposed on the abstract background to yield the resulting image.
