Love those koi. The one "standing" reminds me painfully of a day I should have had a camera in hand, long, long ago. Went to a tropical fish store with a large kids pool with baby koi. It was feeding time. They made a slurry of fish food and water, put them in small baby bottles and threw them in the pool. Those babies sucked them dry in minutes. What a treat and something I'll never forget. Try holding your lens as close to the water as possible, leave the flash on, bring them close and to the surface, do a macro and see what you get.

thanks Carol. yes, that's the type of fish these are, - think another name might be Carp. don't know that much about them, except they are pretty and was surprised at the size of some of these, they are the nicest we'd seen. Very expensive too, I think : ) we didn't bother asking, as it'd be no point us having them, for Great Blue Herons to have an expensive meal from, or the raccoons : )
