have just enjoyed looking at this one again, so nice to be able to view this now that all the hummers have departed. My bee balm did do quite well last summer, was surprised how tall it got tho', at least, the bright red plant out front did. The deeper red/purple plant out back didn't get as high

Very nice photo with great DOF. I like being able to see the hummingbird at a distance...gives a feeling of being right there with it!

well, our hummers are back, at least some of them, the mature males, as of 20 March 06 : ) so am enjoying them again. Bought some bee balm a few days ago, must plant it soon, it's supposed to be less invasive, but will do as you mentioned also.

will try that too, Alex, - did see some at the end of the summer, and am sure the tag stated it was less invasive, but didn't buy it then, should have. Will hafta go back to the garden center and see if it's still there.

Thanks for the comment Alandra,we cut our bee balm down it the fall so it don't re-seed as much.It seems to help.

so pretty, - am so eager to see the hummers again.

must get some of those bee balm soon, we did have some years ago, but it got very invasive so we got rid of it, but am hoping to find a type that won't spread as much
