Your family sounds like a veritable United Nations! And a model for how we should all learn to live together whilst celebrating our differences!

Hi Steve, glad you found it interesting, my grandfather was maori, his wife my nana was NZ swiss, and on dads side they are all from England. I have one son a grandson and a grandaughter that have my colouring, the rest are blondies, we are a bit of a mixture these days.

Thankyou carol for looking in, I glad you like it, they are a very interesting place to visit, I must check out more on it one day but it's said that there was great blood lost at this site, it is now a historic place.

Hi Steve, thanks for looking in,A Maori Pa was generally build on a hill and fortified. the higher and larger the hill the better, but this would depend on the tribe size, it was used as protection during the Maori wars and raids from other tribes. Some of the tribes were were very large and powerful and travelled long distanced to raid another tribe, quite often to steal there women and some times there men, as my great great grandfather was. Not to mention quite blood thirsty. My husband likes to wind me up now and then by reminding me that the "fast food" caption came about from my tribe chasing members of another tribe, and if they caught them. You get the drift. cheeky sod, I remind him to sleep with one eye open. For more info on them google Maori Pa New Zealand.

Lorraine, you'll have to forgive my ignorance, but what is a Maori Pa?
