this Great Blue Heron was resting in the nesting area today. He remained in that position the entire time we were there. This was taken from a distance, with a telephoto lens at 400 mm.

This heron was lower down the cliff than some of the others. There were so many herons there yesterday, more than we've ever seen, and the normal sounds they were making could be heard clearly.
