Heron Confrontation

One Heron was getting a bit toooo close to the nest of the other, - it all happened as I was shooting.

Had no idea there was a heron in the nest (that pile of twigs at the L corner : ) - the one heron was slowly approaching the nest, when suddenly the other heron was there, - it must have sprung out of the nest, - you can see its one leg in nest here. The other heron has one leg/big foot dangling off the branch in surprise. The intruder flew off

Fantastic Shot. The mother heron protecting her nest. You were so fortunate to be in right place place at right time. A priceless work of art!!!

you're right, Janice, it could be a dance too. They are so huge.

That is a beautiful dance they are doing. I know they are confronting each other but it looks as if they are dancing.

thanks Alex : ) - actually, the one heron was sneaking up towards the nest, as I was taking the pics of it. Suddenly the other one sprang out of the nest, he wasn't visible ealier! I was just as surprised as the intruding heron, LOL.

Another great capture, with so many nesting there its not surprising that they might land at the wrong nest.
