Another stray cat

a stray cat that's been around here since last summer, who we started feeding when we saw him eating bird food in the snowstorm, end of Nov! Up til then we thought he belonged to new neighbors.

We always seem to have a stray cat around here, - the last one was here (being fed and sheltered in our garage each winter) for at least 5 years, and he finally vanished just as winter set in. Then this grey cat showed up. Have never seen a cat eat as much and as hungrily as this guy :) But he's less timid than the previous stray ever was, and we can touch this one, whereas we never were able to touch the other stray. Must've been badly mistreated.

thanks Karen, he's a pretty nice cat. Expect you're right re the kitten drowned in the pool, as Racoons do wash their food before eating it, they sort of play with the food in the water.

A beautiful portrait. He is smart to avoid the raccoons. Our neighbors found a stray kitten drowned in their pool. I saw a large adult raccoon crossing our yard in the middle of the day so we are pretty sure it was the culprit. Any way, this is a lovely photo.

thankyou, Beverly. Yes, he is quite a pretty cat. He seems afraid of the raccoons tho, and takes off before it's dark, and returns very late at nights, once the raccoons have left the garden, or so it seems from what we've been noticing of his habits.

thankyou Alan and Lorraine. We are both laughing about your Mom's experience, Alan. Similar thing happened to my sister with a cat they adopted. Took it to be spayed, and it had already been spayed, the vet found out when he did the 2nd op. As you say Lorraine, I cant stand knowing there's a starving cat around, it seems like all or most of our cats have been strays originally. This guy is a proud looking guy, - at least we "think" it's a guy :)

I can't stand to see an animal starve either, over the years we have also had strays, some stayed and some just moved on, Its nice that you also look after them, thanks for sharing, lovely looking cat.

Great photo Alandra.. Nice eye level shot with wonderful colors and focusing. What a pretty cat... It's really nice of you to feed the strays, It looks like he is saying Thanks. My Mom has a cat that was a stray and has now been with her for ten years. It also looks like yours, and she named it Gray Boy. What was really funny was when it hung around she took it to the vet to get it fixed and the vet said she should change it's name. My mom asked why, and the vet told her that he was a she ROFL.... It's name is still Gray Boy..
