a very sweet image. I believe animals recognize the young in most species. It's not often that an adult dog will attack a pup, etc. I believe young animals have a non-threatening scent to grown animals, so that might explain it.

Thanks everyone! I must say again, these geese are not very aggressive. They live at my Mom's house and we knew them for months before we ventured too close. They do trust my son especially. My girls haven't been able to get that close. And mind you, I was just a few feet from him, my Mom was within arms reach, and all my girls were sitting there too. Not to mention my Mom's 3 little dogs who think Seth is part of their pack...LOL! He was safe. He might have gotten nipped, but it wouldn't have been out of anger...My mom has even held one of the babies.

A beautiful moment captured perfectly. There are some humans that seem to be able to get along with wildlife. He isn't making any aggressive moves and the babies are not so young and can get away if they must.

I'm as amazed as Vicki! It makes me a bit nervous just to look at this photo - I genuinely don't know if you should be admired or locked up!! :) This is a very unusual photograph, if only because such a shot is likely to be followed by a close up of a hand with fewer fingers than expected!

This really blows my mind, Priscilla. A Canada Goose is generally known to have a bad disposition - like swans. To allow your little guy to come so close to its goslings is virtually unheard of. Great image. Vicki
