Arches

This is really one for the borders contest! I like the framing of the gates in the arch of another gate, if you see what I mean.

I DID recognize artist before picture. *G* This one has your special touch. Different!!! I hope you won - the dark, heavy stones framing an arch to another world, with a lovely light entryway!!! The open door beckoning. Beautiful picture!!!

My time's limited online anymore so I rarely get to Group or the contests. This was obviously a worthy winner, Steve. The multiple entrances with such a varied style are quite provocative. Well done. Vicki

Very nice! You've created depth effectively in this simple yet attractive photo.

Thanks Alandra. Will look forward to your snow scenes appearing here! I have a hopelessly romantic view of snow, and never really think about all the downsides!

well, Steve, we'll gladly send you some of ours :) We're starting to wonder what'll happen once all this melts! We're in a cold snap now,(so it hasn't snowed much today, thank goodness)- but there have been power outages, luckily ours hasn't been off as long as some areas. Roads are icy and dangerous. the cold spell is supposed to depart on Friday. Was just outside with the dogs, and it didn't seem that bad to me tho' temp wise. This is the most snow in over 2 decades, for the month of November. It does look gorgeous, and have taken lots of photos & will send them to TLF once my "old" computer is fixed.

Thanks Alandra - I did wonder what had happened to you! Not that you're obliged to comment or anything, but as you've always been so supportive, I did notice that you hadn't said anything about the contest!

I love snow, so I'm very jealous of your snowstorm!

Steve

Adding my belated Congratulations on your win, Steve. Good for you! It is a great image. Haven't been around much lately, due to computer problems, - mine is being repaired (hopefully). To top things off, now my laptop is acting up! -Am using hubby's at the moment, and finally just realized I should check the contest. We're in the midst of a snowstorm at present, most unusual for this area.

Thanks to all of you - Carol, Golda, Whittler and Alan - for your generous comments.

Golda, the picture was taken in Le Dorat in central France. There are lots more pictures of the town and surrounding villages and countryside on my site www.hautevienne.moonfruit.com if you'd like to see more. Steve

Steve, it's a very nice shot, but you should have read the small print. Arches are forbidden in the borders contest....got ya! LOL! Very cool capture! It looks like a winner to me. Don
