I don't know how this happened. This blossom started opening yesterday. I photographed it three times this evening. This is a middle shot.

The bud is snow white. I was wearing a chocolate brown shirt, and I guess the flash bounced back the color. It's not a shadow. An accident for sure. What do you think? It's jimson weed.
