Small Blue Flower

This is a rather small and inconspicuous plant which seems to favor Jack Pine wooded areas, with acidic, dry soil. I have stomped through this area for nigh unto 55 years and never saw this flower before today, but then I never looked for it either. The blossom is less than a quarter inch across. The leaves seem to have some sticky stuff beaded on them. (I know better than to touch something like that) If anyone out there knows the name of this plant, please let me know. My field guides show nothing even similar...probably because of its diminutive size and seeming insignificance.

Thanks for viewing!!

Hi duester45

In UK we call this little plant the Germander Speedwell - Veronica chamaedrys...not sure what you call it in the US. Pretty little things aren't they. We get lots of them growing in our garden.
