This was the one thing I forgot to do was measure it 260mm from tip to tip, and she thought that she had had one slightly bigger that had died off, Ive seen much much smaller ones, but never this large. I wouldent cut this for inside, it dosent apeal to me, it was the sheer size that caught my eye. thanks for looking in and the coments.

about how many inches across is the flower, Lorraine?, just outof curiosity. To clarify, - I didn't really mean a "bouquet" as such, (like a Bride would carry), - I meant that I've seen them in "bunches of flowers", haha, for sale at floral departments in supermarkets here :) Not exactly floral arrangements (altho they are used in those here of course) - but just a bunch of flowers that a person would buy and take home to arrange for themselves. I think they are very "striking" looking and they do have a beauty to them, - I like the sortof "powdery bloom" they have all over them, and the colours are lovely too.

A very remarkable looking object! More remarkable than it is beautiful if you ask me! It looks almost like an animal such as a sea anenome or something.

But once again, great control of dynamic range from shadows through to highlights.

I can't say I've seen one this big before either, it is huge, to heavy to be used in a bouquet, in a very large flower arragement maybe. thanks for looking in and the coments.

very nice shot. Have never seen one growing in a garden, - only in bouquets :) Hadn't heard of King Proteas either, just Proteas, - I guess the King Proteas are larger? Lovely.
