I won

I entered this photo in the Syracuse University Staff/Employees Art Show and it took the Color Photography Award.

The amaryllis picture was taken with a Sony DSC-U20 camera - all of 2 (count 'em two) MPixels! The print is 13 by 19 inches - made on a Canon I9900 printer. This may be of some comfort to those who are "struggling by" with cameras that are not the latest and greatest - high MPixel wonders. Now, I'm not saying the the new cameras aren't wonderful - I'm lusting after a Canon 20D myself. It's just that our older cameras aren't out of the running either.

A great example of "Less is more". Congratulations indeed - it's a beautiful blossom, and presenting it with yourself and your certificate add to the entire composition

Congratulations, and what a nice idea to show us "you", with your certificate and the great photo. And how nice of you to encourage those of us who don't have high end cameras.

Your amaryllis photo is beautiful, it seems to be 3 dimensional. You should be very proud.

And you are right about the older digital cameras, - my first one, Sony DSC S 70 took some great shots.
