The Pit

While searching for a trail back from the edge of the world, I happened upon a great pit that smelled of sulfur. There must have been a fire burning below because it was very hot there at the edge. The loose gravel prevented me from getting too close, but I was able to hold my camera out over the edge to get this shot. Unfortunately the view was obscured by the smoke and, as usual, I left empty handed. There had to be a photo op around here somewhere, perhaps if I keep searching...

Hi Plumeriagirl, Thank you for commenting. This is part of a series I'm putting together in book form to document my "trip to the edge of the world."

A cruel and grim scene you have created with such vibrant and intense colors. Nice work
