When we get a really good storm here, the rivers flood, wash away the trees & then they are washed up on the beach where they remain until the next really big tide takes them away again. I watched on a perfect autumn day yesterday as this surfer negotiated the driftwood then made his way down the beach looking for the best break. Taranaki blacksand beaches, nothing like them. :o)
