My camera is a SonyH1 12x zoom,I try to get as close to the dragonfly as I can possibly get, starting out zooming it in and as I get nearer and the insect is still around and hasnt flown away I back the zoom off.

I find with my camera the less zoom that I use the sharper the pic is.
