The Loneliest Road

The Loneliest RoadHighway 50, which runs through the center of the State of Nevada, is correctly called the "Loneliest Road in America." You can easily drive an hour, or more, without seeing another vehicle and it's a long way between gas stations. Both desolate and scenic. Our trip took us through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, and Nevada. We passed through Greensburg, Kansas, (pop. 1,400) about two weeks before the town was leveled by a category 5 tornado. Sadly I don't remember much about Greensburg, just another of the countless small towns along the way.
