Hi Carol and Lorraine.. Thanks again for your wonderful comments on my photos. Yea Carol it is getting fun outside again, the bugs are coming out and all of the plants are waking up. Today though the dumb wind is blowing.. Well Lorraine on the short hike we saw some jackrabbits, one cottontail, some Quail, and the usual birds. Cody my grandson found some ladybugs, grasshoppers, and a nice size lizard. I guess the snakes are waiting for warmer weather.

beautiful shot, the desert looks a very interesting place to go foe a walk with the camera, plenty to photograph. Is there very much in the way of wild life?

Hi Golda and Jas, Thank You for your wonderful comments. Hay Jas I think the Yucca is a smaller and thiner plant than the dagger, they are both from the same family. I found this searching and there are a few different Yuccas. This is what I found...> Yucca gloriosa is a shrub of the family Agavaceae, and of the genus Yucca. Common names include Spanish Dagger, Moundlily Yucca, Soft-tipped Yucca, Spanish Bayonet or Sea Islands Yucca. What ever the name is they will stick you no problem LOL.. Hey Golda, I will for sure post the cactus blooms I find in the next few weeks.

It's lovely to see cacti flowering in their native habitat. The Spanish Daggers you have in the background are known as Yukka here but I think your name is more appropriate. I've lost count the number of times my husband has been stabbed by them! :)
