Dancer 2 - The Leap

I did not take this photo.

It was taken at a performance of dancers in my grand daughter's dance studio group and other groups.

This is my grand daughter Jess, then aged about 13. Call her our Goldfinch in this costume.

The moms of the dancers bought the CD and the pics have been sent far and wide over cyberspace by proud moms and grans : )

We have the same policies with photos at performances here also. I usually take a few photos at Biancas practices but sometimes I'm taking the photos into the sun because of the time of day. I will try and get a good one and put it on here. Maybe one of her in her pointe shoes as she would be pleased for pose for me then. I did see your photos of the Queen. You must have been thrilled to be able to attend. I saw her when I was about 5 or 6 I think when she did a visit to New Zealand.

thankyou, Lulu, would like to see a cartwheel one with Bianca too : )

There are a few other (older) pics of Jess on here, taken one summer at the PNE when she was in the Zydeko Jam show that year, - but no recent ones of actual dance/acro shots like this. At the competitions, you don't like to take flash photos, as it puts the dancers off, infact, think you aren't allowed to, for that reason.

she & her group have danced at some quite "important" events, like at the gathering of the Astronauts a few mos ago in Vancouver, plus the recent celebration for the unveiling of the 2010 Olympic logo in Vancouver, which was broadcast Canada wide on tv, but we didn't get to actually see her. Plus a few years ago, she and the group "danced for the Queen" when she came to Vancouver. We did attend that, and it was quite exciting. Couldn't get close enough to take pics of the dance tho, but did get a couple shots of HM the Queen, which I think are on here.

This looks great. I've taken some photos of Bianca doing a cartwheel but its not as hard as a photo like this as the movement is a lot slower. The photographer has done a superb job with both of these shots I would love to see more dancing photos. You must be very proud of your grand-daughter.
