LaSalle

LaSalle claimed Louisiana for France. It was actually the Mississippi River and all waters that ran into it so LaSalle made the Louisiana Purchase about 1/3 of the total U.S. size and this was hundreds of years before the purchase. He had a priest say prayers at the site. DeSoto came next and then came Bienville and the beginning of New Orleans.

Thanks!! It is where a lot of New Orleans history started. Without portraits like this how could we visualize early history? Without today's photos where could we visualize modern history?
