Well, some really great feed back Lulu, Alandra, Alan & Steve. I totally agree on the boarder. I will post the colour original and then have a play with the saturation and contrast.

Yes I agree with the vast white core, but that is nature.

Cheers,

Mel.

Great shot Mel, and an inventive idea. If I might make one suggestion, apart from endorsing what Alan has said, it would be to see if you can adjust the contrast to retain some detail in the white stalk of the cabbage. I don't know if the original capture has any detail, or even if there was any detail in the subject itself, but I do think the large expanse of featureless white spoils the balance of the image. But I might be wrong!

Really nice close shot Mel. It for sure has lots of lines and curves. As for some suggestions, I would remove the fat border altogether or make it a lot thinner. Also for entering it in a contest I would uncrop the left and right sides just a touch so the edge of the cabbage is not being touched by the border. I would also remove your name in the border, it's distracting to me. Hope my thoughts help and "Good Luck" it looks like a winner to me....

great macro of the red cabbage, Mel. What a cool idea! Also think you should enter it into the contest, "nothing ventured, nothing gained", right! Good Luck.

Hi Tania, Thanks for your review. Im thinking about entering this into the Napier Photographic Society "Curves & Lines" comp subject this month.

So it will be great to get crique before I do so.
