Blind Raccoon leaving fountain

another day that I saw the blind raccoon at our water fountain, - catching her this time as she was leaving the patio area. captured from open front window.

I haven't seen her since, so believe something must've happened to her. Thought I heard a gunshot the other day, so perhaps that was the end of her, and haven't seen her since. She was wandering around on our crescent in the daytime and various people saw her, so maybe someone phoned the wildlife people about her.

just an update on the blind raccoon. She's still around, we saw her wandering down our front driveway a few hours ago, then she was in our backyard. I gave her some food so that she won't have to wander while searching for it.

thankyou Janice and Vicki for the nice comments. I believe the crows caused her eye problems. The crows dive bomb the raccoons while they are on the branches in the trees, as they compete for food. It is a trait of crows to injure eyes of animals, I heard they do the same to newborn lambs if they get a chance, someone who lives in Scotland told me that, years ago.

A great capture, Alandra. A sad story, but even more amazing that it grew this large. Life is fragile and this is a great memory for you. Vicki

Beautiful shot of the raccoon. I hope it didnt meet its demise.

yes, think you're right, Lorraine. I think she probably had infection from the eye injuries, which might have been affecting her brain, as she was definitely disoriented. However, being blind would cause that too. anyway, guess we'll never know. Still haven't seen her since.

The poor thing, maybe she was sick as well, but I guess the wildlife would make the best choice for her. neat capture.
