I'm not sure what the bird is, but it's a terrific and interesting shot. (However, I don't think it's a magpie. They have gorgeous long white feathers in their tails. VERY elegant looking.)

I live on the East Coast. I was out West(Vegas) I do think they look different it is bigger and longer it even sound different .This particular crow was taken on the "strip" I assume it is used to having humans in close proximity.

Our crows look a bit different to this. haven't seen one with as long a tail as this one has.
