hi again,thanks for the info, - well, was pretty sure the burrowing owls were quite small, but have never seen one in real life, --and this one does seem larger, altho it's hard to tell from the photos about the size. And from what I recalled, the markings are different, as you mentioned. This one has quite different markings on it's underside than what we are used to seeing on the great horned owls here. this one has what looks more like "streaks". and quite different markings on its wings. very neat and interesting. love them all. lovely shot, would love to see him in reality : )

have never seen one of these. Wondering if it's what we call Burrowing Owls here in Canada. In our local paper, there's an article on Snowy Owls having been seen in our area recently also. We see lots of Great Horned Owls around here, some pics on my gallery.
