bee balm or monarda. planted this in the spring for the hummingbirds, - we had it years ago, but it became invasive so we got rid of it. But this new variety supposedly doesn't spread as much, and is more resistant to powdery mildew. Infact, I wish it had spread a bit more for this summer season : ) - the few stems of it seemed to grow taller rather than spreading out : ) (murphy's law : )
