Bee Squared

I went to a zoo the other day and all the animals (unknown by me) were in cages. I ended up taking florals and bug pictures there enstead. Not one picture of an animal.

Lovely photo and good composition. Seems like you are going a good job for not having had your camera very long.

Thanks Doug for the hint. In reality I know that it would work, but just never thought of it!! The older I get the more simple minded I get!!! I am pretty new to this hobby as I got my camer last year at Christmas time. All the help I can get is greatly appreciated!!!

The trick to taking photos of animals in cages is to use a telephoto lens and focus on the animal while placing the lens against the cage. Because the cage is too close for the lens to focus on, the camera can't see it and the cage won't be in the picture. If you look in my gallery you'll find a picture of a snow leopard that was taken through a chain link fence.

Great macro, Plumeriagrl. Do you know the name of this flower? - new one to me. I love taking and viewing flower photos also. Agree about caged animals also.

Very nice photo with the bee as the main focus and following the rule of thirds. Voted

I agree with your comment/feelings about animals in cages at the zoo.
