Using close up pictures in your TLF gallery
When posting pictures on the Internet, I’ve often said to people, “This picture is way better when viewed full size because so much of the detail is lost when it’s reduced to fit on a webpage.”
And it’s true, so to counter that, members of The Lens Flare can now upload multiple views of the same image. The first is the standard 500 pixel picture; however, in addition to this, you can also upload a 900 pixel picture and 2 detail images.
What I mean by a detail image is that you can crop out a small portion of your original picture and upload it “as is” to show off that exquisite detail. This could be the center of the flower, the brush strokes of a person’s hair, or whatever else. The image can be 250×250 pixels or smaller. If you upload a larger image than that, it’s resized automatically; however, I’d recommend that you upload something 250×250 or smaller. Remember, resizing is what gave us this problem in the first place.
Here are two examples of where Chriss35 used the close up option to show us a closeup of the flowers.
